The Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF) is gearing up for the much-anticipated Tour du Ghana event, which promises to be one of the most exciting editions yet. As preparations reach their final stages, the Federation has announced the arrival of two European cyclists who will be joining local riders for the competition. Their participation marks a growing international interest in Ghana’s premier cycling event, which showcases the country’s beautiful landscapes, rich culture, and rising cycling talent.

Interestingly, the two European cyclists revealed that beyond competing, they are eager to experience Ghana’s wildlife first-hand — expressing a lighthearted wish to see a live snake and a monkey during their stay. Their enthusiasm has added a fun and adventurous twist to the event’s build-up, reflecting how the Tour du Ghana offers not just sporting excellence, but also a cultural and environmental adventure for international visitors.

According to the General Secretary of the Federation, Mr. Shaaban Mohammed, all is set for the race to begin, with safety, logistics, and coordination fully in place. He emphasized that the presence of foreign cyclists adds value to Ghana’s growing cycling scene and enhances its global recognition. The Federation remains committed to promoting sports tourism through cycling, using the Tour du Ghana as a platform to unite cultures and celebrate endurance, adventure, and the beauty of Ghana.

The Tour du Ghana is sponsored Prudential Life Insurance, MTN, THP, Asa Plus, Twellium Ghana Ltd, DHL Global, Stanbic Bank and Dot.Aleliers.

The partners are the government of Ghana, Ghana Olympic Committee, Ministry of Sports and Recreation, National Sports Authority, Ghana Tourism Authority and the Paramount Chief of Akwamu Kotoi.
