Ghana’s national women’s rugby sevens team, the Eagles, has secured the 7th spot in the latest rankings ahead of the 2025 Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens (RAW7s) tournament, set to take place on November 15–16, 2025, at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi, Kenya.

The prestigious continental event will bring together 12 national teams battling for glory, including hosts Kenya, defending champions South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Tunisia, and Egypt.

Building on Last Year’s Progress

The Ghana Eagles Women finished 7th out of 12 teams in the 2024 Africa Women’s Sevens, hosted at the University of Ghana Rugby Stadium in Accra.

Over six matches, the team managed two wins and four defeats, a result that reflected both their promise and the challenges of competing among Africa’s elite.

Heading into this year’s competition, the Eagles find themselves in Pool B, where they will face off against Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire.

With renewed determination, the squad is targeting an improved performance and a higher finish on the continental stage.
