Maidens Demolish Togo to Cruise into Next Round of FIFA U-17 Women’s WCQ
Ghana’s U-17 women’s team, the Black Maidens, delivered a ruthless performance to brush aside Togo 6-0 in the second leg of their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium, sealing an emphatic 8-0 aggregate victory.
From the opening whistle, the Maidens made it clear this contest was a formality. Their intensity, movement, and finishing were levels above their opponents, and Togo simply had no answer.
Juliana Gyekewaa set the tone early, striking in the 13th minute to calm any nerves and put Ghana firmly in control. Just a minute later, Zeinab Shani doubled the advantage, effectively killing the tie before it could even settle.
Any lingering resistance from Togo was wiped out in the 20th minute when Sekinatu Amadu made it 3-0, finishing off sustained attacking pressure from a dominant Ghanaian side.

By halftime, the result was already beyond doubt as Ghana led 4-0. The only remaining question was how emphatic the scoreline would become.
The second half followed the same script. Priscilla Mensah added a fifth in the 77th minute after another well-constructed move, as the Maidens continued to dictate the pace with ease.
Seidatu Wahab then capped off the performance in stoppage tim, sealing a comprehensive 6-0 win on the day and underlining Ghana’s superiority across both legs.
The Maidens will now face their counterparts from Liberia in the next round of the qualifiers.
