The residence of the British High Commissioner in Accra came alive on Sunday as football enthusiasts, dignitaries, sports administrators and entertainment personalities gathered to mark the climax of another thrilling English Premier League season.

Hosted by British High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Dr. Christian Rogg, the event attracted a host of prominent figures from Ghana’s sporting fraternity, with many in attendance proudly celebrating the conclusion of a memorable campaign that saw Arsenal crowned champions.

Leading the distinguished guests was the Director-General of the National Sports Authority, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, who joined fellow football lovers for an evening of networking, friendship and celebration. Also present was newly appointed National Teams Ambassador and former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, whose presence added further prestige to the occasion.

The gathering also featured Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) President Anthony Baffoe, senior Ghana Police Service officer Lydia Yaako Donkor, and respected football administrator Mrs. Hillary Maame Adwoa Boateng, alongside several key stakeholders within the football fraternity.

Representatives from various diplomatic missions mingled with sports personalities and invited guests, creating an atmosphere that reflected the unifying power of football beyond borders.

The entertainment industry was not left out, with popular music duo Dope Nation, renowned for their hit song Kakalika, joining the celebrations. Several prominent media personalities, including Michael Oti Adjei, Tahiru Fentuo, Joel Acheampong and Kosi Fiaka, were also among the guests who witnessed the season’s finale in style.

Adding to the star power were Black Queens players Jennifer Cudjoe and Chantelle Hlorkah Boye, who joined the football community in celebrating the end of another captivating Premier League season.

The occasion served as a fitting curtain-raiser on the close of England’s top-flight campaign, bringing together personalities from sports, diplomacy, media and entertainment under one roof to celebrate the global appeal of the beautiful game.
