Hearts part company with head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani
Ghanaian football heavyweight Accra Hearts of Oak have dismissed head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and his entire technical team following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
The decision was confirmed in an official statement issued by the club on Tuesday after what management described as a “comprehensive technical review” of the campaign.
Dramani departs after just one season in charge despite overseeing one of the strongest defensive performances in Ghana Premier League history.
Hearts finished third on the league table, conceded only 15 goals in 34 matches and established a new top-flight record by keeping 24 clean sheets.
The Phobians announced that the team is currently on recess while the board prepares to communicate the club’s next technical direction ahead of the new season.
Club Thanks Dramani For Service
In the statement, Hearts of Oak expressed gratitude to the experienced tactician and his staff for their contribution throughout the campaign.
The club extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Dramani and his staff for their professionalism, commitment, and service.
Under their guidance, Hearts of Oak secured a third-place finish in the just-ended season, and we acknowledge the discipline and effort they brought to the technical setup.
Although Hearts built a formidable defensive unit under Dramani, their inability to score consistently proved costly in the title race.
The club scored only 25 goals throughout the league season despite losing just six matches.
Hearts won 13 games, drew 15 and suffered 6 defeats, with the large number of stalemates ultimately preventing them from mounting a stronger championship push under the former Asante Kotoko gaffer.
The club also indicated that the decision forms part of a broader rebuilding process intended to restore Hearts of Oak to the highest level both locally and on the continent.
As part of this transition, the team and players are currently in recess. The Board will, in due course, communicate the technical direction of the club as we continue to align our football philosophy with the long-term ambitions and identity of Accra Hearts of Oak SC.”
One of Ghana’s Most Decorated Coaches
Dramani leaves Hearts with an established reputation as one of Ghana’s most accomplished coaches.
More than ten years ago, he guided Asante Kotoko to consecutive Ghana Premier League titles, achievements that strengthened his status within local football circles.
His influence has also stretched beyond club football. In 2012, he led Ghana’s national U-17 women’s side, the Black Maidens, to a historic bronze medal finish at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan.
Known for his emphasis on tactical discipline and player development, Dramani has long been regarded as one of the country’s leading football minds.
His exit now leaves Hearts of Oak searching for another new beginning as the club aims to challenge strongly for domestic honours and make a return to continental prominence.
The club ended its statement by thanking supporters for their continued loyalty and assured fans that all decisions being taken are focused on building a stronger and more competitive future for the Phobians.
