At the International Table Tennis Federation’s (ITTF) Annual General Meeting on November 15, 2025, Ghana’s Mawuko Afadzinu has been re-elected as Chairman of the ITTF Sustainability Committee. This reaffirms his leadership role for a new four-year term, following his initial two-year appointment.
Mr. Afadzinu will continue to guide the committee’s global efforts, working with members from Australia, Spain, Hong Kong, China, Scotland, and the United Arab Emirates.
His re-election underscores Ghana’s growing influence in international sports governance. As President of the Ghana Table Tennis Association, Afadzinu has been instrumental in securing major sponsorships, developing youth talent, and strengthening the sport’s infrastructure. His work at the African Table Tennis Federation has further promoted investment and development of the sport across the continent.
Under his leadership, the Sustainability Committee has launched key initiatives, including the ITTF Planet Action Plan and sustainability training for member associations. His continued chairmanship is poised to accelerate table tennis’s journey toward becoming a model for environmental stewardship and sustainable growth in global sports.
