Mohammed’s impressive run to the semi-finals came to an end after a closely contested bout against Australia’s Jye Dixon, who edged the Ghanaian by split decision to book his place in the final.
The scorecards reflected just how narrow the contest was, with four of the five ringside judges favouring Dixon and one scoring in Mohammed’s favour, underlining the competitiveness of the encounter from bell to bell.
Although he narrowly missed the chance to compete for gold, Mohammed leaves Glasgow with his head held high after delivering a commendable performance against one of the tournament’s strongest contenders.
The medal further boosts Team Ghana’s tally at the Games and serves as a testament to the hard work of the athlete, his coaches, and the entire Ghana Boxing Federation.
