Ghana Badminton has formally invited national player Charity Naah to join the country’s squad for the 2027 All Africa Seniors Championships, set to be staged in Algeria in January 2027.
The invitation, extended in a letter dated September 1, 2026 and signed by Events Director Dr. Benjamin Baah Konadu on behalf of the Federation’s President, cited Naah’s recent form as the basis for her selection.
The letter, addressed to Naah personally, described her performances as commendable and expressed confidence that her skill and discipline would strengthen the national team’s push for a competitive showing on the African stage.
As part of her preparation, Naah is expected to report for a national training camp at the National Training Center in Borteyman, Accra, with the full training schedule to be shared once her participation is confirmed.
The Federation’s letter also outlined the financial arrangement for the trip. Citing current strain on government finances, Ghana Badminton said it would be difficult to fund the full cost of participation through government or corporate channels alone, and asked Naah to explore support from individuals and organisations to help cover her costs.
Under the arrangement, the Federation will cover accommodation and feeding during the competition itself, while airfare, insurance, the local preparatory camp fee, and visa costs fall to the athlete.

Subsidised round-trip air ticket Ghc9,462 – athlete
Insurance Ghc648 – athlete

The Federation has set a tight timeline for the call-up. Naah is required to confirm her acceptance of the invitation by September 15, 2026, with full payment of her portion of the costs due by October 30, 2026. Ghana Badminton has indicated that the slot will pass to another athlete should the deadline be missed.
The All Africa Seniors Championships is one of the continent’s marquee badminton events, drawing national teams from across Africa under the umbrella of Badminton Confederation of Africa.
Ghana Badminton, established in 1962, continues to represent the sport nationally within the Olympic, Commonwealth, and Paralympic movements.
