The fixtures for the 2026 X1 Division One League (DOL) Super Cup have been released, setting the stage for an exciting pre-season tournament that will bring together eight of the best-performing clubs from the 2025/26 Division One League campaign.
Scheduled to take place at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, the competition has been designed to help newly promoted Ghana Premier League clubs and other top-performing Division One sides prepare for the 2026/27 season, which begins in September.
The tournament will feature Debibi United FC and FC AshantiGold 04, all of whom secured promotion to the Ghana Premier League for the first time in their histories. They will be joined by the three Division One League runners-up from the respective zones, as well as the two best-performing third-placed clubs, completing an eight-team field.
Port City will also play in the GPL this season and were part iof the 8-team contingent for the Super Cup but have withdrawn from the competition and Real Tamale United have been drafted in in their place.
The participating clubs have been split into two groups of four, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals before the competition concludes with the final.
Debibi United will kick off the tournament when they face Attram De Visser SC in the opening fixture, while another intriguing clash between Real Tamale United and Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs FC rounds off the opening day’s action in Group A.
The tournament is expected to provide coaches with a valuable opportunity to assess their squads, integrate new signings and fine-tune tactical systems ahead of the start of the new domestic campaign.
Group stage promises competitive encounters
Group A features Debibi United, Attram De Visser, Real Tamale United and Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs, with every side aiming to secure one of the two available semi-final places.
Following their opening meeting with Attram De Visser, Debibi United will return on Match Day Two to face Real Tamale United before concluding the group phase against Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs in what could prove decisive in determining qualification.
Attram De Visser will also face Ebusua Dwarfs on the second matchday before wrapping up their campaign against Real Tamale United.
Group B consists of FC AshantiGold 04, Nsuopon Fidelity FC, Tamale City FC and Semper Fi FC.
AshantiGold begin their campaign against Nsuopon Fidelity before taking on Semper Fi in their second fixture and Tamale City in the final round of group matches. Nsuopon Fidelity will also meet Tamale City and Semper Fi, while Tamale City face Semper Fi in their opening fixture.
With only the top two teams progressing, every match is expected to carry significant importance, leaving little margin for error during the three-match group stage.
Ideal preparation ahead of Premier League return
Beyond the race for silverware, the tournament represents an important part of pre-season preparations, particularly for clubs preparing for life in the Ghana Premier League.
Debibi United, FC AshantiGold and Port City will all make their top-flight debuts when the new season gets underway in September, and the Super Cup offers them the opportunity to test themselves against strong opposition in a competitive environment before their historic campaigns begin.
For the remaining clubs, the tournament provides a chance to build momentum after narrowly missing promotion last season while giving coaches the opportunity to evaluate players under match conditions.

This year’s edition carries added significance as it will be the first to be played under the headline sponsorship of X1 Energy Drink following the company’s partnership with the Ghana Football Association.
