Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has acknowledged that the 2025/26 season fell short of the club’s expectations despite securing a third-place finish in the Ghana Premier League.

In an end-of-season statement released by the club’s management, Hearts of Oak expressed gratitude to supporters, partners, and stakeholders for their unwavering support throughout a campaign that delivered mixed fortunes for one of Ghana’s most decorated football clubs.
While a top-three league finish provided some positives, the club admitted that it did not achieve its primary objectives for the season. Management singled out the team’s early elimination from the MTN FA Cup at the Round of 64 stage as one of the campaign’s biggest disappointments.

At a club of this stature, progress must always be measured against ambition, consistency, and the pursuit of trophies,” the statement emphasized.

Looking ahead, Hearts of Oak revealed that preparations for the 2026/27 season are already underway. The club disclosed that strategic reviews are being conducted across both the technical and playing departments, with the aim of strengthening competitiveness, improving performance structures, and restoring the club to the standards expected by its supporters.

Management also confirmed plans to strengthen the playing squad ahead of the new season. Although ongoing transfer restrictions have affected player registration processes, the club expressed confidence that the transfer ban will soon be lifted, paving the way for the registration of new signings.

In addition to first-team improvements, Hearts of Oak announced a renewed focus on youth development. The club is implementing a new direction for its academy and youth football structure, featuring a more aggressive scouting strategy and enhanced technical development programmes designed to nurture the next generation of talent.

Further details regarding these initiatives are expected to be communicated in the coming months.
The club also paid a heartfelt message to the club’s loyal supporters, thanking them for their patience, belief, and commitment during a challenging season.

As Hearts of Oak turns its attention to the future, management insists that the rebuilding process has already begun, with a clear determination to return the club to competing for major honours both domestically and on the continental stage.

The work to restore Hearts of Oak has already begun.”
