Cristiano Ronaldo has finally clinched the Saudi Pro League title, ending a wait of more than two years since joining Al-Nassr, as the Riyadh club sealed a commanding 4–1 victory over Damac on Thursday to be crowned champions for the first time in six years.

The 41-year-old, whose arrival in Saudi Arabia in late 2022 captured the attention of the global football world, contributed two goals to the cause, a trademark set-piece converted from a tight angle after teammates Sadio Mané and Kingsley Coman had already put the contest beyond Damac, before adding a clinical close-range finish in the 81st minute to complete the victory in style.

For Ronaldo, the title represents the final missing piece of his time in the Middle East. Since arriving at Al-Nassr at the end of 2022, the Portuguese forward, widely regarded as the highest-paid athlete in the World, having earned an estimated $275m in 2025 according to Forbes had delivered relentlessly on an individual level, surpassing 100 goals across three-and-a-half seasons. Yet the league trophy had remained elusive. Thursday’s result puts that right.

Across 34 league fixtures, the club secured 28 victories against just 4 defeats, a record commanding enough to see them overtake their bitter rivals and reigning champions Al-Hilal at the summit and hold firm until the final whistle of the campaign.

The triumph is Al-Nassr’s 11th Saudi Pro League title in the club’s history and arguably their most important achievement in the modern era, arriving after a drought of six years and in a season defined by the weight of expectation that Ronaldo’s presence alone has brought to the competition.

Far from winding down, Ronaldo gives every indication of an athlete who intends to squeeze every last chapter from his career. This summer, he is to represent Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, his sixth appearance on football’s biggest stage, a record without precedent in the men’s game. It is a distinction that affirms just how remarkable his longevity has been. A player who has competed at the highest level across five different leagues, winning honours in England, Spain, Italy, and now the Gulf.

The Saudi Pro League title now joins a trophy cabinet that spans five league championships across four countries, five UEFA Champions League medals, and a European Championship with Portugal.
