Royal Cycling Club has achieved an impressive 5th place finish in the team classification after the second stage of the ongoing 31st International Tour du Togo, making Ghana proud on the international cycling stage.

The participating teams in this year’s race include Belgique, Burkina Faso, SNH Vélo Club, Mali, Benin, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Continental Togo, Ride Afrique, and Côte d’Ivoire.

The cyclists representing Royal Cycling Club are Emmanuel Sesi, Victor Cudjoe Akpabli, Emmanuel Otokunor Sackey, Solomon Tagoe, Farrakhan Shaaban Mohammed, and Lynford Allottey. The team officials are Rudolf Mensah, Francis Obodai Sai popularly known as “Polo,” and the Chairman of Royal Cycling Club, Binah Mawuli.

According to the Chairman, the club’s strong performance reflects the hard work, determination, and discipline of both the cyclists and the technical team throughout the competition. Competing against experienced teams from across West Africa and beyond, Royal Cycling Club demonstrated resilience, unity, and teamwork in every stage of the race.

The achievement marks another important achievement for Ghana cycling and highlights the growing potential of young Ghanaian cyclists in international competitions. The club’s participation also contributes to strengthening sporting relations between Ghana and Togo through cycling development and regional cooperation.

Management of Royal Cycling Club expressed appreciation to Dot Atelier, supporters, sponsors, team officials, and fans for their continuous encouragement and commitment to the growth of cycling in Ghana.

The club remains focused on improving its performance in the remaining stages of the Tour while continuing its mission of developing talented young cyclists for future national and international competitions.

The Chairman also thanked the Ghana Cycling Federation for accepting and supporting the team to represent Ghana in this prestigious Tour du Togo. He expressed hope that more opportunities would be given to cycling clubs in Ghana to participate, showcase their talents, and gain valuable international experience on a bigger platform.
