At the prestigious BAL Investor Summit held at the Kigali Convention Centre, Minister for Sports, Hon. Kofi Adams, articulated a bold new vision for the country’s sporting future, anchored in the revival of school sports and strategic public–private partnerships.

Addressing a distinguished audience of investors, sports administrators, and policymakers, Hon. Adams emphasized that sustainable athletic excellence must be cultivated from the ground up. He declared that Ghana’s strategy will prioritize early talent identification through a comprehensive restructuring of school sports programs.

We want to catch young talent early by making school sports strong again,” Hon. Adams stated. “By equipping children in classrooms and on playgrounds with quality coaching, modern facilities, and structured competitions, we can transform raw energy into skill and discipline. That is where future champions and a healthier generation begin.”

The Minister acknowledged, however, that government effort alone would be insufficient. He issued a formal call to the private sector, urging investors to join a shared mission of national development through sport.

We cannot do it alone,” he affirmed. “By inviting the private sector to partner with government, we are calling for investment, expertise, and innovation to flow into our sports infrastructure, events, and programs.”

According to the Sports Minister this collaborative model where public vision meets private resources, will create lasting opportunities for young Ghanaians, driving both athletic achievement and broader social benefits. The initiative aims not only to produce elite competitors but also to foster a culture of fitness, teamwork, and resilience from the grassroots upward.
