Black Stars and Leicester City winger Fatawu Ishahaku has expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming All Star Festival, telling BACSports exclusively that the event has grown into a major highlight on the football calendar and that this year’s edition promises to be the biggest yet.

Speaking in an exclusive interview, the Black Stars winger recalled the overwhelming reception that accompanied the previous All Star Festival which was held in Tamale and surpassed all expectations in terms of crowd turnout and public excitement.

The last time we did it in Tamale it was amazing. No one was expecting the crowd, the joy now everyone wants to come and get involved.” Fatawu Ishahaku Speaking exclusively to BACSports

The 22-year-old, who has established himself as one of Ghana’s most recognisable footballing exports following his exploits in the Championship, said it is always a special experience to return home and participate in events that connect him with supporters across the country.

Beyond his own attendance, Ishahaku revealed that he is actively working to encourage fellow professional footballers based in Europe to make the trip to Ghana for the Event. The winger described it as an opportunity not only to attend a sporting event, but to experience Ghanaian culture and hospitality first-hand.

I am even trying to invite my colleagues from my team and close friends I know in football that are in Europe, so that they can come and have a feel of the country and know how we live and where I am from.”

His comments reflect a broader vision for the All Star Festival as a platform that extends beyond competitive football, positioning Ghana as a destination that European-based professionals would be proud to visit and experience.

Ishahaku also said the Event is very important for fans in Ghana because it gives them a rare chance to meet and connect directly with well-known international football stars.

It is going to give Ghanaians the opportunity to see people in real life that they have never seen before. We should be ready to see the stars, because there will be a lot of people coming.”

The July All Star Festival is shaping up to be a landmark occasion, and Ishahaku intends to ensure that the spotlight falls squarely on Ghana.
