The seventh edition of the PRURide Cycling Competition has delivered one of the strongest performances in the event’s history, underlining how far cycling in Ghana has come toward international and UCI-level racing standards.
The winners of the Male and Female categories each rode away with a GH¢15,000 cash prize, a reflection of the growing value, competitiveness and professional standard the event has attained since its inception.
This year’s race matched the speed demands of a genuinely high-level competition. The Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF) had set an average target speed of 40 km/h for the 112-kilometre course, and the field responded with an average of 40.43 km/h, completing the race in 2 hours, 46 minutes and 14 seconds.

A particularly significant achievement was the participation of 21 female cyclists, a strong showing for women’s cycling in Ghana that places PRURide among the leading events on the Federation’s calendar since the GCF was established.
The presence of distinguished dignitaries and stakeholders added further weight to the occasion, reinforcing PRURide’s standing as one of the country’s most professionally organised and competitive cycling events.

Special congratulations went to Ghana’s neighbours from Burkina Faso, who dominated the competition with an outstanding performance, sweeping the top honours in both the Male and Female categories.
Their success speaks to the growing competitiveness of cycling across the sub-region and to the value of events such as PRURide in creating opportunities for cyclists from Ghana and across Africa to test themselves at a higher level.
The Ghana Cycling Federation extended its congratulations to all cyclists, clubs, coaches, officials, organisers, sponsors, partners, volunteers and supporters who contributed to the success of PRURide 7.
