Accra is ready to welcome the final stage of the prestigious EU Ambassadors’ Velocity Cycling Tour with National Honor, as the remarkable 800-kilometre journey from Tamale to Accra reaches its final stage.
The initiative, championed by European Union ambassadors, has emerged as a powerful symbol of sustainability, resilience, and international collaboration. Beyond its athletic importance, the tour promotes environmentally conscious mobility and healthier lifestyles, reinforcing the global push toward greener transportation alternatives.

The final stretch, themed “Cycling Towards Sustainability,” will take cyclists on a 31-kilometre route from Aburi to Accra.
The ride is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, with departure at 8:00 a.m.
Cyclists will assemble at the Shell Filling Station opposite Peduase Valley Resort, before finishing at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, located at 89 Liberation Road, Ring Road in Accra.
Adding to the occasion, Professor Fred Awaah, Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority, and Kobina Wisdom Woyome have both confirmed their participation in the grand finale ride. Their involvement highlights the growing institutional support for cycling and active sports development in Ghana.

The tour, which has traversed key regions of the country, stands as an evidence to endurance and unity, drawing attention to the importance of sustainable living while fostering stronger ties between Ghana and its international partners.
The #RideWithTeamEurope cycling tour is an 800 km ride from Tamale to Accra. It celebrates 50 years of the EU in Ghana and features EU Ambassadors and team members promoting sustainability.
