The Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee has delivered firm sanctions against both a player and a club in separate cases stemming from incidents during the ongoing 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League season, sending a clear signal that acts of misconduct on and off the pitch will not go unpunished.

Case One — Raymond Oko Grippman

Nations FC midfielder Raymond Oko Grippman has been slapped with a five-match suspension, effective immediately, after the Disciplinary Committee ruled that his actions during a Premier League clash against Asante Kotoko SC crossed a clear line. The panel found the player guilty of unsporting behaviour, deliberately stamping on the thigh of an opponent after committing a foul during the match.

The five-game ban kicks in with immediate effect, meaning Grippman will be absent from the Nations FC dugout from their very next league fixture. In addition to the suspension, the Committee issued the player a formal warning, putting him on notice that any further disciplinary violations during the season will attract harsher consequences.

In a separate ruling, Former FA CUP Champions, Bechem United FC have been ordered to pay a fine of GHC10,000 following misconduct associated with their league fixture against Karela United FC. The club was found culpable on two fronts: allowing their supporters to throw objects onto the field of play during the match, and failing to exercise adequate control over the behaviour of their technical team members and officials on the touchline.

The Committee’s verdict reflects growing concern about crowd-related incidents that not only endanger players and match officials but also undermine the integrity and public image of the league. Bechem United are required to settle the financial penalty within fourteen days of being formally notified of the ruling.

These two rulings are part of the GFA’s broader commitment to enforcing its disciplinary code consistently across all clubs and individuals competing in the Ghana Premier League. The FA has made it a priority this season to act swiftly and decisively whenever the laws of the game or the standards of conduct expected of clubs, players, and officials are breached.

All parties involved retain the right to appeal the decisions through the appropriate channels as stipulated under GFA statutes.
