Ghana’s national women’s rugby sevens team, The Eagles, have touched down in Nairobi, Kenya, for the 2025 Africa Women’s Sevens Cup. The 12-player squad and their support staff are set to compete against the continent’s best on November 15-16.
Drawn in a competitive Pool B, The Eagles will face host nation Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire. Their quest begins on Day 1 with a match against Côte d’Ivoire at 9:44 AM, followed by a clash with Kenya at 4:06 PM (EAT).

There’s a trophy at stake for the competition teams. The tournament is the official African qualifier for the 2026 World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series, a special way to qualify for the world cup.
Ms. Rafatu Inusah, President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union led the team to Kenya to showcase their ambition to qualify to the global stage.
