The General Manager of Dreams FC and Team Manager of the Black Stars, Ameenu Shardow, has commended Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku for his progressive vision for Ghanaian football.
Speaking in an interview with The BAC Sports, Shadow highlighted the president’s strong ideas and commitment to transforming the sport across the country. He emphasized that Kurt Okraku’s leadership is rooted in sound plans that, if successfully implemented, could significantly uplift Ghana football at all levels.
President Kurt has very good ideas for the development of football in Ghana, Shardow said. But having the ideas is not enough, you need to be in a position where you can execute them.
However, he pointed out that the demands placed on the office of the GFA President often make the job extremely challenging. Shadow noted that the pressure from the football community and stakeholders can easily distract even the most focused leadership.
The pressure on the office is enormous. If you’re not careful, you can lose track. There are also people who come with personal requests, and if those aren’t fulfilled, they might vote you out, he added.
Despite these challenges, Shardow expressed optimism that with the right support, President Okraku’s vision could lead to lasting improvements in the football sector.
Since assuming office in 2019, President Kurt Okraku has initiated several reforms aimed at reviving local football, enhancing youth development, and improving officiating standards, including the widely praised “Catch Them Young” refereeing initiative.
