The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has issued a statement calling on Ghanaians to rally behind the Black Queens as the team prepares to compete at the 2026 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
In the statement, Simeon-Okraku urged all Ghanaians, both at home and abroad, to unite firmly behind the Black Queens as they prepare to represent the country once again.
The GFA President noted that the Black Queens head into the tournament with renewed confidence and ambition, building on the momentum of their bronze-medal finish at the previous edition of the competition.
He described the tournament as an opportunity for the team not only to challenge for AFCON Trophy, but also to secure qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup and return Ghana to the pinnacle of women’s football.
Simeon-Okraku extended his appeal, calling on the media, corporate partners, and every stakeholder within Ghana football to stand firmly behind the team with unwavering encouragement and belief throughout the tournament.
He urged the country to celebrate the players’ commitment, appreciate their sacrifices, and inspire them at every stage of their campaign.
