Ghana table tennis player Celia Baah-Danso has formally declared her candidacy for a position on the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Athletes Commission, as elections for the body are held between 28th April and 4th May 2026 in London, United Kingdom.
Baah-Danso, who represents Ghana at both the national and international levels, is seeking to bring the collective voice of athletes to the ITTF’s governance structures, a role she describes as central to the health and progress of the global sport.
I will listen, act, and work with integrity. I humbly ask for your support and your vote, so we can create a better future for all athletes. Celia Baah-Danso, Candidate, ITTF Athletes Commission
In her campaign message, Baah-Danso outlined three core areas of focus should she secure a seat on the Commission: Amplifying the voices of athletes in decision-making processes, strengthening the lines of communication between players and federation officials, and upholding the principles of fairness throughout every level of the table tennis structure.
The ITTF Athletes Commission serves as a formal bridge between active players and the federation’s leadership, providing a dedicated channel through which athletes can raise concerns, propose reforms, and contribute to the policies that shape the sport.
Baah-Danso’s bid reflects a growing demand among African athletes for greater representation in international sports governance.
