The Ghana Boxing Interim Management Committee (GBIMC) has issued an update on the ongoing vetting process for the 2026 Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) Executive Board Elections, following three days of candidate screenings.

According to GBIMC, the vetting proceedings which commenced on Thursday, 4th June 2026 saw most candidates submitting further particulars as requested by the Committee. In order to ensure thoroughness and fairness, the GBIMC has scheduled Tuesday, 9th June 2026, for continued vetting.

The Committee also moved to address concerns raised by stakeholders following an earlier notice. In a formal clarification, the GBIMC reaffirmed that the Fit-for-Role (FFR) assessment remains an integral component of the vetting framework for aspirants contesting top positions within the GBA Executive Board.

The FFR standard, the Committee explained, reflects global best practices in sports governance and leadership. Under this framework, aspirants are expected to demonstrate:

· A proven track record in boxing administration and development;
· Integrity, accountability, and sound leadership judgment in decision-making;
· The capacity to represent Ghana Boxing effectively at both national and international levels; and
· Sustained commitment through tangible investments and contributions to the growth of the sport.

The GBIMC emphasized that this clarification underscores its commitment to strengthening the credibility of the vetting process and safeguarding the integrity of the elections.

The Committee assured all stakeholders including boxers, officials, and the wider sporting public that the vetting and election processes will continue to be conducted with transparency, fairness, and strict adherence to the Constitution of the Ghana Boxing Authority.
