Ghana’s campaign at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games continues today, Saturday, 1 August 2026, with two of the country’s finest track cyclists set to compete in their respective events at the ongoing Track Cycling Competition.
Representing Team Ghana are Farrakhan Shaaban Mohammed, who will contest the Men’s Sprint event at 10:00 a.m., and Erica Sedzro, who is scheduled to compete in the Women’s 1,000-metre Individual Time Trial at 4:00 p.m.
The Ghana Cycling Federation has extended its best wishes to both athletes as they prepare to take on some of the Commonwealth’s top cyclists in pursuit of success on the international stage.
The Federation expressed confidence in the dedication, discipline and determination of the two cyclists, noting that their participation reflects Ghana’s continued commitment to developing and promoting competitive cycling.
The Ghana Cycling Federation has also called on Ghanaians, both at home and across the diaspora, to rally behind the athletes with their encouragement, as they seek to deliver outstanding performances and secure places on the podium.
