The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed former Ghana international Godwin Attram as Assistant Coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars.
Attram replaces Desmond Ofei, who will now dedicate his full attention to his role as Head Coach of the Black Meteors, Ghana’s U23 national team.
The appointment forms part of the GFA’s technical restructuring as the Black Stars gear up for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and other upcoming international assignments.
A former Black Stars midfielder, Attram brings extensive experience from both his playing and coaching career. He featured for clubs including PSV Eindhoven and Silkeborg IF and has also gained coaching experience at both club and national youth-team levels.
The former Great Olympics head coach has been involved in Ghana’s youth national-team structures and is noted for his focus on player development and his modern approach to coaching.
Meanwhile, Ofei, who previously combined his responsibilities with the Black Stars alongside his duties with Ghana’s youth national teams, will now concentrate exclusively on the Black Meteors.
His immediate task will be to lead Ghana’s U23 side in preparations for the next Olympic Games qualifying campaign.
