Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich delivered one of the most unforgettable UEFA Champions League semi-finals in history, with PSG securing a 5-4 victory in the highest-scoring semi-final the competition has ever seen.
The nine-goal thriller was packed with individual brilliance, historic achievements, and record-breaking performances from both sides as Europe’s elite produced a contest worthy of its grand stage.
For Bayern Munich, the night marked a an attacking landmark. For the first time in the club’s Champions League history, three players reached double figures for goal involvements in a single campaign — Michael Olise, Luis Díaz, and Harry Kane all surpassed the 10-goal contribution mark.

Kane added another major personal achievement by becoming the first English player ever to score in six consecutive Champions League matches.
His scoring run came against Union Saint-Gilloise, PSV Eindhoven, Atalanta, Real Madrid (home and away), and now PSG, surpassing the previous record held by Steven Gerrard since 2008.
Meanwhile, Olise continues to enjoy a remarkable season, standing as the only player across Europe’s top five leagues to register 20 goals and 25 assists in all competitions this campaign, further proof of his growing influence in European football.

Despite Bayern’s attacking firepower, PSG’s creative stars ultimately made the difference. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia set a new club record for the most goal involvements in a single Champions League season for PSG, reaching 15 in the 2025/26 campaign and surpassing the previous mark of 14 set by Ousmane Dembélé last season.

Dembélé himself also entered the history books by becoming only the second PSG player to both score and assist in a Champions League semi-final, following Ángel Di María, who achieved the feat against RB Leipzig in August 2020.
In midfield, Vitinha continued his remarkable consistency by featuring in all 52 of PSG’s Champions League matches since joining the club in the summer of 2022. No player has made more appearances in the competition since the start of the 2022/23 season.
Defensively, Marquinhos also equalled Roberto Carlos’s record of 120 appearances by a Brazilian player in European Cup and Champions League history.

The match also delivered a broader European first. It was the first time in any European semi-final across all competitions that both teams scored four or more goals in the same game.

In Champions League knockout history, it was only the second such occasion after Chelsea’s famous 4-4 draw with Liverpool in the 2008/09 quarter-finals.
While Bayern’s attacking trio made history, it was PSG who walked away with the advantage in a match that will be remembered for years to come, a semi-final that redefined drama, quality, and Champions League theatre.
