Directors at the Ministry of Sports and Recreation have signed a performance agreements that will shape their work for the rest of 2026, a move the Ministry says is central to raising the bar on sports development across the country.
The signing marks a fresh push by the Ministry to tie individual responsibilities to broader national goals, with each director now bound by clear targets and deliverables for the year ahead.

Officials say the agreements are meant to cut through vagueness and ensure that every unit within the Ministry pulls in the same direction.
The process was overseen by Chief Director Mrs. Wilhelmina Asamoah, who signed the agreements with the directors. The pacts are now awaiting the sector minister’s endorsement before heading to the Office of the Head of Civil Service for final sign-off.

Taking the opportunity to address the gathering, Mrs. Asamoah had words of praise for her team, but also a direct message. “It is imperative that we work harder to ensure the Ministry of Sports and Recreation delivers to the expectations of our country,” she told directors. She pledged her full backing to support staff in carrying out their duties efficiently and without unnecessary roadblocks.

The agreements are being seen as a signal that the Ministry means business in 2026. By locking in targets early, leadership hopes to build a culture where results matter and progress can be tracked and measured rather than assumed.
