Ghana’s Davis Cup team has successfully concluded its final pre-departure training session and is set to fly out to Nairobi, Kenya, this afternoon, marking the end of an intensive week-long preparation camp that has readied the squad for continental competition.

The closing session, held at the Backyard Club in the Osu district of Accra, brought together the full playing group for a final on-court workout under the joint supervision of head coaches Henry Adjei Darko and Richard Ayi Dartey.

Technical drills shifted to tactical work as the coaches made final adjustments to their strategy, improved doubles pairings, and supervised light practice matches to prepare the players for the tournament.

The camp placed deliberate emphasis on three core pillars, physical fitness, collective cohesion, and clay-court adaptability with the latter proving particularly significant given the surface conditions expected in Nairobi.

The four-man squad, comprising Raphael Dowuona, Lameck Bagerbaseh, Samuel Antwi, and Abraham Asaba departs in confident mood, buoyed by the quality of preparation completed and the unity forged across the week’s shared sessions.

Team sources indicate that the players are in strong condition and that the camp yielded the clarity of selection and strategic purpose necessary ahead of a competitive assignment.

The team’s participation in this year’s Africa Group competition has been made possible through the commitment of several key stakeholders from within Ghana’s tennis community and broader business landscape.

Principal backing has come from Amoako Boafo, channelled through the Dot. Atelier Foundation, whose support has been central to the logistical and operational framework underpinning the delegation.
