Ghana’s national men’s rugby sevens team, the Eagles, have officially departed for Mauritius ahead of the 2026 Africa Men’s Sevens Championship, carrying the hopes of a nation as they prepare to battle some of the continent’s finest rugby teams.
The tournament will be held on June 20–21, 2026, in Mauritius, with all matches taking place at the SPARC facility in Cascavelle. Twelve nations will compete for supremacy across three pools in one of Africa’s premier rugby events.
Drawn in Pool B, Ghana will face formidable opposition from Madagascar, Uganda, and Tunisia during the round-robin stage. With preparations completed, the Eagles are determined to make a strong impression against some of the most established rugby countries.
