The Ghana-Anhui Chamber of Commerce and Industry has donated 2,120 sports essentials to the National Sports Authority (NSA) Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Committee to support the development of grassroots sports through the Constituency Games initiative.
The donation was presented on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the ESP Hotel in Labone, Accra, during a ceremony attended by key stakeholders from Ghana’s sports sector and the Ghana-China business community.
The items comprise 600 pairs of footwear, including peace canvas sneakers and casual shoes, as well as 1,520 peace T-shirts in adult unisex sizes ranging from XS to 3XL.

The presentation brought together several prominent figures, including Ghana Olympic Committee President Richard Akpokavie, NSA Board Chairman Dr Awal, NSA Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Chairman of the Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Committee Samson Deen, Chairman of the Ghana-Anhui Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tang Wei, President of the Chinese Societies Association Tang Hong, Representative of the United Nations Security Lihong Shen and former Black Stars captain André Ayew.

Speaking at the ceremony, Samson Deen expressed appreciation to the Ghana-Anhui Chamber for its partnership and commitment to supporting sports development in Ghana.
He said the donation would contribute significantly to the government’s efforts to promote grassroots sports and identify talented young people through the Constituency Games.
As part of the government’s reset agenda, this is not mere support but it will go a long way to help sports and also to discover talents. No child should be left out because of their location or background. That is the reason for the Constituency Games,” he said.
Mr Deen added that providing the necessary resources and support could help Ghanaian sports reach greater heights while promoting the country on the international stage.
A representative of the Ghana-Anhui Chamber said the donation forms part of the organisation’s corporate social responsibility and its commitment to contributing to Ghanaian society.
The representative noted that sports remains an important tool for promoting unity and peace and expressed the Chamber’s willingness to continue supporting the initiative whenever the need arises.

Former Black Stars captain André Ayew also commended the Ghana-Anhui Chamber for the gesture, describing the donation as an important contribution towards the growth and promotion of sports in Ghana.
The latest support comes shortly after the inaugural Constituency Games Committee and its Partnership and Donations initiative brought together members of the NSA Board, the Ghana Olympic Committee, André Ayew, representatives of the Ghana-China community and other stakeholders to mobilise resources for the programme.
The Constituency Games Secretariat says the initiative is designed to unite communities, inspire talent and help build the future of Ghanaian sports.
Partnership, transparency, community empowerment and excellence have been identified as key pillars of the programme, which seeks to provide young people across the country’s constituencies with opportunities to participate in sports, have their talents identified and receive the necessary support to develop their potential.
The Ghana-Anhui Chamber’s donation is therefore expected to strengthen the logistical resources available to the Constituency Games and support efforts to ensure that talented young athletes are not disadvantaged by their geographical location or socio-economic background.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen Ghana’s grassroots sports development and create a sustainable pathway for young talents to progress from community-level participation to higher levels of competitive sport.
