The National Director of Operations for the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Dr Samuel Sasu Mensah, has delivered a firm message on safety, dignity, and support for cyclists, declaring the department’s readiness to help make Accra a model city for safe riding.

Speaking to partners, stakeholders, and cycling enthusiasts at the official launch of the 2026 PRURide, ACP Dr Sasu Mensah stressed that the initiative represents far more than convenience for cyclists. It also reflects a broader commitment to their safety and to the respect they deserve on the road.

His remarks underscored the deepening partnership between Prudential Life Insurance Ghana and Ghana’s traffic safety authorities. Through PRURide, the focus extends beyond cycling to the creation of a safer and greener environment for riders across Accra’s roads.

The launch drew together key partners including the Ghana Cycling Federation, the Ghana Olympic Committee, the Ghana Police Service, and the University of Ghana Sports and Wellness Directorate. Their presence reflected the strength of the collaboration and the shared commitment behind this year’s PRURide initiative.
