Ghana’s 4×100 metres relay team has secured automatic qualification for the World Athletics Championships following an impressive outing on Sunday.
Running in the shadow of China, who claimed victory, the Ghanaian quartet crossed the line in a time of 38.09 seconds, a mark sufficient to claim the final guaranteed qualifying position for next year’s World Athletics Championship in Beijing.
The performance was characterised by measured composure and sharp baton exchanges.

Notably, the squad operated with a reconfigured lineup, with Edwin Gadayi repositioned from the anchor role to lead off the race, a tactical decision that provided a strong platform from which his teammates could build.
The team was completed by two of Ghana’s most experienced relay runners. Benjamin Azamati brought his explosive speed to the opening leg, while Joseph Paul Amoah provided strength and consistency in the middle stages. Both played key roles in helping Ghana achieve this major result.
