Ghana’s Daniel Wadieh has booked his place in the final of the 2026 All-African Mixed Martial Arts Championship, currently underway in Luanda, Angola.
The lightweight competitor defeated Cameroon’s Alex Junior Kamgang in the semi-finals, becoming the only Ghanaian fighter to progress beyond the quarter-final stage of the tournament, which is organised by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation.

Wadieh, who serves as captain of the national side and is based in the Netherlands, has delivered consistent performances throughout the competition. He is coached by Frans Djimtche, with additional support from Emirhan Bulduk.
Ghana Mixed Martial Arts Federation President Collins Zoiku expressed confidence in Wadieh’s prospects ahead of the final, citing the fighter’s preparation and form as key factors. Zoiku noted that Wadieh is well-placed to secure a podium finish and bring recognition to the country on the continental stage.
The Federation President also highlighted the importance of expanding domestic competition as a pathway to growing the sport in Ghana, noting that a number of Ghanaian fighters currently based in Europe represent a pool of talent that could bolster the Black Warriors in future competitions.
Wadieh has previously represented Ghana in multiple international competitions, recording creditable results.
