Sports and Business Transformation Ltd, on behalf of sprinter Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, has released an official press statement to clarify concerns raised by the athlete regarding preparations for Ghana’s 4×100m team.
The statement aims to ease public tension following reported challenges ahead of the World Athletics Relays in Gaborone, Botswana, and to reaffirm the athlete’s commitment to patriotism and sporting excellence.
According to the management, Saminu’s initial remarks were motivated solely by a deep love for his country and a sincere desire to improve preparation processes for athletic competitions. His goal, the statement said, was to help the national team achieve better results on the International stage.
However, the manner in which these concerns were communicated did not fully align with the athlete’s original intent, leading to misunderstandings among stakeholders and the media.
The statement confirms that the appropriate authorities have since addressed the issues positively and effectively. Saminu, with humility, has clarified his position directly to the relevant stakeholders.
The situation previously led to a confrontational exchange with media personnel, which resulted in unintended responses,” the statement reads. “This action stems from his sincere intention to contribute to the development of a healthy and supportive sports ecosystem.”
Looking ahead, the management has urged all stakeholders, fans, and the general public to welcome Abdul-Rasheed Saminu with love and encouragement as he prepares for his first home competition.
The athlete expressed gratitude to all Ghanaians for their continued support, particularly ahead of the upcoming African Senior Athletics Championship this Month.
