Osu Duku Festival delivered another memorable chapter in its sporting calendar on Sunday, 9th August 2026, as the fifth edition of the Osu Duku Cycling Race brought together the country’s finest road cyclists for a demanding championship through the heart of the capital.
Riders in the men’s and women’s categories tackled routes anchored on the historic Osu enclave, with the men’s race stretching to 120 kilometres and the women contesting a 50-kilometre course.
Both races started and finished at the TotalEnergies Service Station on 28th February Road, Osu, the traditional hub of the event. From there, riders headed out along 28th February Road towards Access Bank’s Watson House on La Road, before turning back through the Total station and pressing on past Independence Square towards the High Court traffic light, where the route turned for the return leg back to the finish line at Total.
Men’s 120km: Tagoe Times a Perfect Sprint
In the men’s category, Solomon Tagoe produced the ride of the day, crossing the line at 3:08pm to claim the title in an official time of 3 hours 36 minutes, an average speed of 33.27 kilometres per hour that underlined the intensity of the contest. Francis Owusu was not far behind, following seconds later at 3:09pm to secure second place, while Victor Cudjoe and Frank Akuffo arrived together at 3:10pm to round out the podium and fourth position respectively.
Prince Quaye completed the top five at 3:13pm, with Emmanuel Sessi crossing at 3:14pm to close out the front group.

Women’s 50km: Otoudung Leads the Pack Home
The women’s race set off at 11:39am and produced a compelling 50-kilometre battle through the same Osu streets. Patience Effiong Otoudung emerged victorious, crossing the finish line at 1:31pm at an average speed of 26.78km/hr to take the women’s crown.
Ellen Anim finished second, with Abigail Tetteh completing the race in third. Kensema, Jessica Nartey, Jennifer Lamptey and Rebecca Agena rounded out the finishers in fourth through seventh place.
Three riders Majorie Quaye, Deborah Adu and Esther Addobe did not complete the course.
