“The league is won by winning games” – Didi Dramani

Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has delivered a clear and uncompromising message to his players as the title race intensifies, insisting that the league trophy can only be lifted when you win your matches.

The Phobians head into their upcoming clash against Swedru All Blacks under pressure after a dip in form that has seen them slip to fourth place on the league table. With just one win in their last five matches, Hearts have lost ground in the race and now trail leaders Bibiani GoldStars by six points.

Speaking ahead of the weekend fixture, Dramani cut through any excuses and focused on the fundamentals.

“We just need to be winning games and keep that consistency and keep the pressure on. That’s the most important thing. You can win the league when you win games,” he stated.

Didi Dramani is stripping things back to the non-negotiables. Form, momentum, and consistency are what separate contenders from pretenders at this stage of the season, and Hearts are currently flirting with the wrong side of that line.

Beyond tactics and performances on the pitch, the former Black Stars assistant coach also turned attention to the stands, calling for stronger fan backing during home matches.

“They (fans) are our number 12 and we always want to have them in the stadium and we appreciate them. Their presence motivates the team,” he added.

That statement carries weight. At a club like Hearts of Oak, fan energy is not optional, it is part of the identity. When results dip, atmosphere often follows. Dramani is trying to reverse both at once.

The reality is brutal. If Hearts cannot turn this run into a string of wins immediately, the gap to the top will widen and the title conversation will move on without them.
